Look Out!
In Isaiah 62:6-7, the Lord says people who constantly call out to Him in prayer are Watchmen on the Walls of Jerusalem. By calling prayers Watchmen, the Lord teaches us that faith-filled prayer requires something after your “Amen.” Watching and waiting. Beloved, whenever you lift prayer up to God, Look Out for Him to answer!
God loves to be asked because He loves to be trusted! And God loves to answer because He loves to be trusted! I fear that some of us haven’t even started to look out for His answers!
You may struggle soon to trust the Lord with something. God’s answers to your prayers are reminders you’re gonna need! What a shame for those reminders to be nowhere in sight!
Answered prayers are personalized proofs that God is faithful to you. Answered prayers are personalized proofs that God never fails to care for you. Answered prayers are personalized proofs that you are never alone. How many personalized proofs have you and I missed simply because we neglect to Look Out after we Lift Up prayers? Find a way, Beloved, mark down and review your prayers—if for no other reason than to help you believe the Lord is faithful to you.
Now if you’ll do what I’m exhorting you to do…you won’t always like the answers God gives! He is no Genie taking our orders. But the yesses God does give will keep His nos from stopping us praying. And the far-more-abundantly-than-we-asked answers will will guard us from doubting His ability and goodness when He says “not yet,” or even “no.”
Emmaus doesn’t just need praying men and women. Emmaus needs watchmen and watchwomen—always on the Look Out for our God to come through!
Whenever you lift up, Look Out!
