The Bible uses the terms elder, pastor, overseer, and bishop, interchangeably (Acts 20:17, 28; 1 Pet. 5:1-2).

Brad Bevil

Brad was born and raised in New Braunfels, TX. Blessed with Christian parents who regularly shared the gospel and were involved in a local church, he had a basic understanding of his own sin and need for a savior at an early age. Following his profession of faith and baptism, Brad is thankful for God’s grace and work of salvation in his life, along with faithful parents, friends, and church members who discipled him and helped him to grow in his faith, Christian walk, and love for the church. He completed his undergraduate studies at Southwestern University followed by graduate school at Texas State University where he obtained a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and is currently a practicing Physical Therapist in Georgetown. Brad is married to his high school sweetheart Lesley. They have three children: Kaleb, Eliza, and Lydia.

Marshall Canales

Born and raised in the Austin area, Marshall grew up in a Christian home. However, it wasn’t until High School that the Lord saved him, showing him the false hope and peace he had found in his self-righteousness. Throughout his years in High School, the Lord used Christian hip hop and his mom’s fight with cancer to grow him in his understanding of the gospel. Marshall went on to undergraduate studies at Criswell College in Dallas, TX where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies. In 2017, he earned his Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Marshall was planted out as the lead pastor of Emmaus Church from High Pointe Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. He is married to Alexandra, and they have three children; Kimberly, Hosea, and Ezekiel.

Zac Cleveland

Zac grew up believing that being good would lead to a good life, and for much of his early years, he saw little reason to question that. Though his family regularly attended a church, the spiritual teachings he received were vague and lacked clear gospel truth, leaving him unsure why Jesus or the church were necessary. It wasn’t until middle school, through the faithful witness of two youth ministers and gospel-centered teaching, that God began to soften his heart. At a summer camp between seventh and eighth grade, he came to the sobering realization that he was a sinner in need of salvation and, for the first time, placed his faith in Christ. This marked a turning point in his life, leading to genuine repentance and a desire to make things right with others, including seeking forgiveness from peers he had wronged. Though his discipleship was limited in those early years, God continued to grow in him a love for His Word and a deep appreciation for the local church. Encouraged by the same youth ministers, he stepped into leadership and worship roles, experiences that played a major role in shaping his call to ministry. He remains grateful for God’s grace and mercy in drawing him to Himself and transforming his life. Zac is married to Heather and they have one son, Cade.

Stephen Crawford

Stephen was born and raised in the Houston area to a church-going family where he was taught the basics of the faith and responded to the gospel’s call at a young age. As he grew up, he was blessed to have many older men in his life who pressed him to read and know God’s Word and Reformed doctrine, which resulted in a greater love for the Lord and an increasing desire to serve His church. Opportunities for this arose while in college at the University of Texas, where he was invited to join the staff of the church at which he was a member. It was during this time that he also initially met and got to know his now wife, Taylor. After a brief stint in the oil & gas industry in Houston post-college, Stephen entered into full-time vocational ministry in Austin and married Taylor. During his 8 years in vocational ministry, he was able to complete an M.Div. at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Stephen and Taylor have three delightfully energetic children—Knox, Corrie, and Samuel. Stephen currently works as a Customer Success Manager for an Austin-based software company.

B.J. King

B.J. was born and raised in Victoria, TX in a loving, churchgoing family. God was at work throughout his life showing him his need of a great savior. While in college, B.J. repented of his sin, trusted Christ, and was discipled by others in the Christian life. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.A. in Political Science, and soon after married his wife, Meg. B.J and Meg moved their young family to Louisville, then to Atlanta, before finally settling in Georgetown in 2021. While in Atlanta, he served on staff at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, and has also worked in Commercial Facility Management. B.J. and Meg have five wonderful children: Ben, Ellie, Joe, Matthew, and GraceAnna.

Granger Smith

Granger was born and raised in the Dallas area in a Christian home with loving parents and two brothers. For decades, he professed Christianity, defended the gospel, and even taught the Bible in small settings. Yet, it was through the extreme suffering of losing a child that the Lord revealed the foundation of his faith was built on the shifting sands of self-reliance. His religion had been merely nominal. In the wake of this grief, the Lord saved Granger while he was listening to a sermon on John 14. His sin now unmistakable and his Savior magnified, he was washed clean—redeemed, healed, and overwhelmed by the penetrating love of God. In the years that followed, the Lord called him to pastoral ministry. Granger holds a degree in history from Texas A&M University and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Amber, and they have four children: London, Lincoln, River, and Maverick.
