If the Bible is the foundation of our church, then membership is the cement that holds us all together. Both Christ and His Apostles command us to commit to one another for our encouragement, our protection, and our instruction. We see this best done in a formalized membership within the church. We seek to carry out this vision through a three-step process:

Step 1 | Membership Class – All prospective members must attend our Membership class. This is where you have an opportunity to learn about Emmaus. Attending a Membership Class doesn't automatically make you a member, neither does it require you to become a member. But attending a membership class is required for membership

Step 2 | Membership Discussion – In a 30 to 45-minute discussion, the prospective member meets with an elder and this is where the elders get to know you better as your potential pastors. In this discussion the individual would then sign the Emmaus Statement of Faith and Church Covenant.

Step 3 | Congregational Affirmation* – During our regular Members Meetings (once a month), elders share the prospective member’s testimony with the congregation. The congregation is asked to affirm the prospective member into membership. Once affirmed by the congregation the individual being presenting is affirmed into the membership of Emmaus Church.
